Quilting for Fun

After a long absence from the blogging world I've decided to get back to it and to log my quiltmaking progress.

My confession:  I have  an 8' x 6' x 4' space that is totally filled with quilt fabric scraps, and it's time to take care of this over-consumption issue.   Truly, it's a wonderful problem to have, but I don't want it to be passed down to another generation that may not want any of it.   This is my monster and I can enjoy taking care of it a little at a time.

Dog-gone Goodies

I love this new quilt fabric line, "My Best Friend"  from  Stof  Fabrics of Denmark.

The bag pattern/fabric makes a sweet and modern tote.

Fresh Air

I'm moving in a fresh new direction.  After four years, I've closed our lovely quilt shop and have decided to reconnect with daily life.  I enjoyed the shop greatly...but it took so much time--too much time, worry, stress.

I'll continue to have an online store and to sell our wares at quilt shows, but...I'm reconnecting with creativity, relaxation, sunshine, friends, gardening, and life.   Yippee!

Quilt Shop Life

Who knew that when you open a quilt shop there's never enough time to quilt anymore?  One of these days I'll sew again, but for now it's still fun to run the store...and pick the fabric!

We moved to our new store 9 months ago, so if you haven't seen it yet, here are a few photos ...

I've been working on our website, working on social media classes and preparing for our 2016 quilt show booth.  Bill's making some new cabinets for our booth and he's done a great job.  Photos later.

Happy December!
